PRAYER
What is Prayer?
Prayer is how we connect and communicate with God. You can pray on your own, with someone else, or even in a group.
Prayer isn’t just about talking to God. It also means listening to Him through His Holy Spirit. Prayer can include worship, confession, thanksgiving, and asking God for what we need or even desire.
As you grow in your relationship with God, prayer can change. At first, you may have lots to say. Over time, prayer can become more about listening and simply being with God, just like spending time with someone you love without always needing to talk.
Prayer can also happen with others. It might be spontaneous or focused on a particular need.
Whatever you’re praying about, prayer is an opportunity to join Jesus in praying for yourself and others.
Why is Prayer important?
Prayer is important because it is a primary way to connect with God. Through prayer, you get to have a conversation with the God who is the Creator of all things and the One who deeply cares about you.
While we don’t always see the answers and results of our prayers instantly, Jesus shared with His disciples that when their prayers align with God’s heart, He will always answer those prayers. This is why it is important to pray Scripture!

The Lord's Prayer
The Lord's Prayer comes from Matthew 6:9-13:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
